Who we are
Welcome to Joule Stays, private accommodations designed with your restoration and renewal in mind. As we found tranquillity and pure connection while living on the Coast, we wished to share our homes and extend the same experience with guests. We envision rest as a way of discovering new energy, and it is our hope that you feel uplifted and refreshed during your visit on the Sunshine Coast.
Sustainability is a key pillar in our mission as a short term rental host. In our home-away-from-home, guests are greeted by a curated collection of ethical home products, designed to embody quality with an intention to inspire. Our atelier collection is entirely upcycled using zero-waste fabrics and lovingly crafted with like-minded partners, both local and from afar. Care is felt and embodied by our commitment to every zero-waste natural material in our home collection.
Bring the Joule Stays ethos into your home.

“In nature, nothing is created and nothing is destroyed, but everything is transformed”

Partners
Abel
Joule Atelier partnered with Abel Wear Incorporated to create a one of a kind signature line of home goods to be enjoyed and purchased by clients and guests. Abel Wear creates flexible additional income for people experiencing barriers to employment. We share this work in an ongoing relationship with the Abel Wear sewing team and our commitment to creating slow and meaningful products with purpose.
This zero-waste collaboration joins our mutual goal of upcycling scrap fabrics purchased from FABCycle and Our Social Fabric – which would otherwise be wasted fabrics going to the landfill – to be transformed into products for sale on Joule Atelier.
With gratitude, we acknowledge that not everyone experiences the same access to employment, and our partnership blossomed from a shared ethic of creating opportunity where it might not otherwise exist. We crafted timeless pieces together with care and attention to the purpose of every product in our home, lifestyle and values.

Fashion Clinic
The Fashion Clinic specializes in redesigning and upcycling deadstock garments and material to create fashion pieces, artwork, and home furnishings. The process involves deconstruction and reconstruction of garments, recuperating and working with leftover or surplus material, embroidery, needle punching, print and sewing, all done in their studio in Hong Kong.
The Fashion Clinic hopes to CHANGE DESIGN to DESIGN CHANGE, close the loop of the consumption cycle, and support a FUTURE WITHOUT WASTE.
